Bill Lovejoy, President

Hometown: Middletown, Ohio

Bill has over 30 years in the moving and storage business.  He started working with his father’s company at age 12 and has worked in every position in the industry over his career.  Bill has worked with many agents with major van line affiliations such as Atlas Van Lines, Graebel Van Lines, United Van Lines.  Before Republic, Bill was a partner in Bekins Moving and Storage for 13 years.

In 2008, after much prayer, Bill and his wife Carol purchased the assets of Republic Van Lines of San Diego.  The company was in bankruptcy and Bill’s mission was to turn it around.  With a focus on attracting the best team to run the office and the best service providers in the industry, the company has grown and prospered through tough economic times.

Bill lists his best accomplishment to date as raising six terrific children and being a good father and husband. In his spare time, Bill enjoys playing racquetball and is sponsored by E-Force. He also enjoys watching the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team and is a diehard Cleveland Browns fan.

Skip Cole, Sales Manager

Hometown: Bloomfield Hills, Michigan

A 35 year veteran of the moving and storage industry, Skip has held just about every position imaginable. He started as a mover/packer and worked his way through all positions of the business including local dispatcher, local driver and operations manager. He started his career with Cor-O-Van in 1978 and worked for them for 15 years after which he joined Bekins Moving Solutions and spent another 15 years with that company. As of late, he joined Republic Moving & Storage and has been working in Sales.  His experience has led to the sort of expert knowledge that helps makes our company great and allows us to operate efficiently for optimal results.

In his spare time, Skip enjoys spending his time with his wife and five kids and coaches his 12-year-old son’s Little League team. He also loves to play golf and watch football.

George Howsmon, Sales

Hometown: Chicago, Illinois

George was born in Athens and moved to America at a young age, living in Ohio, Florida, and Philadelphia. He started his career in the moving and storage industry in 1981 in New Orleans, Louisiana. With a well-rounded knowledge of the business, George has been responsible for hiring, training and developing new relocation personnel. He has expert knowledge of the business, including international and domestic relocations as well as commercial moves. He relocated to San Diego, California in 1990 working for Bekins Moving Solutions after which he was relocated to Florida working for United before he came to Republic Moving & Storage in 2008. He is valued for his vast experience in the industry and currently is very successful working in sales for Republic.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family including his grandchildren. George enjoys living in San Diego, in particular the amazing weather and when time permits, he enjoys playing golf and other outdoor activities. He also coached Jr. High basketball.

Victor Tenorio, Sales

Hometown: San Diego, California

Adding his experience to the Republic name, Victor has more than 20 years in the moving and storage industry. He started in 1988 working during the summers while he was still in high school. Since then, Victor has worked with many agents with major van line affiliations such as Allied, Mayflower and North American Van Lines. Before joining the Republic team, he was a relocation consultant for Allied for 19 years. Victor is well versed in all aspects of the moving industry and specializes in O&I, Corporate, COD and International consulting.

Victor has been recognized as one of the top 100 sales consultants for Allied.  Also, in the corporate accounts, he has been on the top 50 recognition list for Mayflower multiple years in a row. He prides himself on his ability to make lifelong customers through a commitment to quality.

In his spare time, Victor enjoys spending his time with his wife, two sons and daughter. Victor has a longing for the water and competes in off-shore fishing tournaments, and also enjoys boating with his family. He combines his love of water with his passion for volunteer work while competing and volunteering in the Make A Wish Tuna Challenge annually in San Diego.

RaeDeane VanMeter, Office Manager

Hometown: Phoenix, Arizona

RaeDeane has been in the moving and storage industry since 1995. As a military spouse, she found herself seeking employment due to a change in the duty station for her husband. When her family was relocated to Pensacola, Florida, RaeDeane took a job with a small family-owned moving company. Over the years, RaeDeane was able to learn all aspect of the business from billing to operations to sales. In spring of 2008, she joined Republic Moving & Storage doing customer service for the military business and was later re-positioned as office manager. She is able to employ the knowledge she has gained over the years and utilize it to develop and put into place systems that allow our team to provide superior customer service to our customer and military business partners.

She currently resides in Santee, California with her husband and children. RaeDeane enjoys spending time with her husband and off-roading in their Jeep or boating on the Colorado River near Yuma, Arizona.

Julie Gerrick, Customer Service Manager

Hometown: Ridgecrest, California

Julie is the relocation coordinator for Republic Moving and Storage and handles all commercial, domestic and international shipments as well as logistics projects. She started in 1995 in the moving and storage industry working for Bekins Moving and Storage and remained with them for over 12 years working a number of positions. During her time at Bekins, she helped launch the Logistics/Home Direct USA branch of the company in 2004. Through her hard work and expertise, Bekins became the highest-volume, fastest- growing delivery service transporting large consumer products earning recognition in the top five agents all 4 years Julie managed the program. She came to work for Republic in 2010 and has proven to be a valuable asset to the organization bringing to the table an aptitude for logistics solutions and an extensive knowledge of military moves international, domestic and local.

Born in England, Julie moved to California as a young child in 1976 after her father retired from the Navy. She has lived in San Diego since 1989 and resides here with her husband and two children. Julie enjoys spending most of her free time with her family, taking trips to the sand dunes and Colorado River.

Scott Proseus, Operations Manager

Hometown: San Diego, California

Scott currently heads the operations department for Republic Moving & Storage and has over 20 years experience in this industry. He has extensive experience in warehouse management, dispatching local and long haul, and managing operations. He has worked for major van lines including Allied, United, Bekins and North American from New Jersey to California.

Scott is a CPL (Certified Packer Loader) & RIM (Registered International Mover) with the AMSA (American Moving & Storage Association) and feels that constant training is crucial. He attributes his success and that of Republic with a service oriented “strive for excellence” approach to business. He considers his most success quality to be his people skills and feels it is important to communicate effectively, thoroughly and timely.

When Scott isn’t working, he enjoys spicy food and racquetball as well as writing, arranging, producing, and playing live music.

Greg Shadoan, Local Dispatcher

Hometown: San Diego, California

Greg has over 20 years experience in the moving and storage industry. He has worked many positions in that time including; mover/packer/class A driver, warehouse assistant/warehouse manager, dispatch assistant/dispatcher and operations manager. Greg has worked  locally for San Diego agents El Cajon Van & Storage, The Movers, Valley Van & Storage and Presidio Moving Service who represented many carriers such as; Atlas Van Lines, Sherwood Van Lines, Interstate Van Lines, Movers Unlimited, Paul Arpin Van Lines, Cheyenne Motorworks and Allied Van Lines to name a few.

Greg joined the operations team at Republic Moving & Storage in April of 2010. He was hired in response to the rapid growth and expansion of Republic Moving & Storage. His industry experience, positive attitude and commitment to excellence have proved beneficial to maintaining the very highest service standards that keep Republic Moving & Storage at the forefront in the extremely competitive industry.

Greg has attended Southwestern College, United Trucking School, Grossmont College and UCSD Extension. In his free time Greg enjoys music, guitar, photography, creative arts, travelling, Oakland Raiders football and last but certainly not least spending as much time as possible with his wonderful wife, two children and extended family.

Mischelle Lammers, Billing Manager

Hometown: Anoka, Minnesota

Mischelle has been in the moving and storage industry for over 30 years since she began with Atlas Van Lines in 1978. Since then, she has worked for other major van lines such as Allied and Mayflower in addition to being a General Manager at ACE Relocation Services in San Diego for a number of years. In 2003 Mischelle came to work for Republic Van Lines and when the company was sold in 2008 to Bill Lovejoy, she stayed on with the company; which is now Republic Moving & Storage. Currently, Mischelle handles all of the rating and billing for Republic, an essential part of the business.

Mischelle was also a licensed Real Estate agent for a number of years and was very successful. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her two children.

Lynn Garner, Accounts Manager

Hometown: Liverpool, England

Lynn has worked in the moving and storage industry for the past 13 years, beginning with Bekins Moving and Storage as a storage clerk where she worked with Bill Lovejoy, the current owner of Republic. In the summer of 2008, she came to work for Lovejoy and is now the account manager for Republic.

Lynn was born and raised in Liverpool, England and attended the Aigburth Vale School for Girls. She moved to the United States in the fall of 1980. She currently resides in San Diego with her husband of 29 years and her three children. On her time off she loves to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
